Husk
Sunflower husk, or seed husk, is a by-product of sunflower oil production demonstrating high potential. When using hot pressing to produce sunflower oil, a large amount of husk remains as a result, i.e. 11-16% of the initial weight. This amount at various oil production plants may reach dozens of tons per week.
Pellets
However, the sunflower husk has an invaluable property – high heat of combustion. This property makes the husk one of the most efficient types of fuel, which is produced in the form of fuel briquettes and pellets. Pelleting is one of the most common methods to process husk resulting in the product moisture content of up to 12% and the initial volume compression by 5-10 times.
Used filter powder
This is the used perlite filter powder (kieselguhr) that remains after sunflower oil refining/deodorization. Contains no mixture with bleaching earth.
Various secondary raw materials
Waste paper, unsellable plastic bottles, scrap metal and other production wastes.
